After Carlos Ulberg defeated Jiri Prochazka to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship belt during UFC 327 in April, the promotion company travels to New Jersey for UFC 328 in May. The main event features Emirati fighter Khamzat Chimaev (15-0-0) defending his UFC Middleweight Championship title against American Sean Strickland (30-7-0) in a marquee match. It’s scheduled for five rounds.
On Saturday, May 9, UFC 328: Chimaev vs. Strickland takes place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The early prelims start at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, while the main card is set to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland just straight up don’t like each other after a gym confrontation during training. Both have been guilty of escalating the rivalry with accusations of bullying and violence outside of the octagon. In fact, UFC has taken special arrangements to make sure there are no security threats between the fighters before and after the bout.
There’s no telling if this is just hype for UFC 328, or if these two really have a personal beef with each other, but one thing is for sure, it should be on fiery match on Saturday night.
